In Honor of Tom Gabel’s Announcement

Before you read this, read this.

As a male pretty set, for now at least, in his heterosexual ways and having never questioned my sexuality or gender (yes, there is a difference), I think Tom’s bravery should be a catalyst for males to start questioning themselves, most of us believe in our male bodies cause we were raised to believe in them. Our physical appearance and who/what we feel like don’t have to be the same thing, after all the “parts” we were given at birth were a random chance of chromosome distribution (look it up) and we all started off female (keep looking it up). I’m glad such a polarizing figure such as, hopefully sooner-rather-than-later, Laura has put herself out there. We the punk community, and the world at large, have been given a chance to be a positive movement in/for the LGBTQIA community. Hopefully this will begin the tearing down of the wall that so divides us from just being civil humans. I hope it at least begins a positive and progressive discussion towards removing any negative connotations associated with those who choose to exercise their BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS!!!

To those who will snicker, poke fun and judge;

And to Tom, thank you for you’re bravery. You’ll be a beautiful woman I’m sure. Much love and respect, I wish we all had a little of your courage. Can’t wait to see Laura on stage!
